Upcoming 2004 World AIDS Day events include the following:

AIDS and the 2004 Elections: Prospects and Challenges

Tuesday, November 30th. Two community forums featuring Julie Davids, Executive Director, Community HIV/AIDS Mobilization Project (NY); Paul Feldman, Director of Policy, National Assoc. of People With AIDS (Wash., DC); Wendy Johnson, M.D., Mozambique Field Director, Health Alliance International; Nicholas Leydon, Physicians for Human Rights (Boston); and Kevin Sullivan, Executive Director, Ohio AIDS Coalition (Columbus). The 3:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m. forum is geared toward HIV/AIDS professionals, funders, policy makers and government, and the 7:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m. forum is geared toward HIV/AIDS service and prevention consumers – all people are warmly invited to attend either session. Voices Against the Silence Awards

Thursday evening, December 2nd. The AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland's annual “Voices Against the Silence" dinner and award ceremony. Windows on the River, Cleveland. Keynote speaker: Marla J. Gold, M.D., Professor and Dean, Department of Health Management and Policy, Drexel University School

of Public Health.

Recipients of the 2004 Voices Against the Silence awards are the Gay People's Chronicle; Jerome Littlejohn; Sana Loue, JD, Ph.D., MPH; H. Paul Schwitzgebel; Isis Tiffany Soul-Lamar; and Kevin Sullivan. Receiving special awards this year for their contributions as policymakers and policy advisers are Cleveland City Councilman Matt Zone, and Theresa Lang Coaxum, Health and Human Affairs advisor to U.S. Representative Stephanie Tubbs Jones.
